Sangjoon J. Kim, a senior researcher at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), earned his Ph.D. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from KAIST in 2019 and 2014 after completing his B.S. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2012. His research centers on wearable robotics, human augmentation, and rehabilitation engineering, specifically developing sensor-integrated exoskeletons and adaptive control systems to improve mobility and support recovery for individuals with motor impairments, bridging advanced engineering with real-world clinical applications. His contributions aim to translate cutting-edge wearable technologies into practical solutions that improve quality of life and promote independent living.
