Dr. Micah C. Wright is an Assistant Professor of Research, Assistant Director of Impact and Innovation, and scholar at the UT Health San Antonio School of Nursing. His expertise is in designing capacity building programs in higher education and conducting research that supports the military affiliated community. With a PhD from the University of Texas at San Antonio, Dr. Wright has dedicated over ten years to advancing knowledge and fostering innovation in military and veterans studies.
Known for his work with student veterans at UTSA and Texas State University and his experience working with the Military Health Institute, Dr. Wright has published scholarship in journals like Duke University’s Pedagogy, the Online Learning Journal, and Southwest American Literature, and presented findings at national and international conferences. His research focuses on advancing the health and wellbeing of the military affiliated community, to include service members, veterans, and their families.
In addition to academic accomplishments, Dr. Wright is a Marine Corps Veteran, Purple Heart Recipient, and community advocate for those who have served our country. He has served on the Military Advisory Council with the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, sits on the board of the 3rd Battalion 1st Marines Association, and was recently elected to the Executive Board of the Veterans Studies Association.
