Francis Obinna Nwokorie is a Biomedical Engineer and researcher specializing in neurotechnologies, biosignal analysis, and biomedical instrumentation. Currently pursuing an MSc in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Glasgow, UK, he works in the Neurotechnologies and Rehabilitation Lab, focusing on EEG/EMG signal processing and rehabilitative device development.
Previously, he earned a B.Tech in Biomedical Technology (GPA: 4.44/5.0) from Nigeria’s Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), where he conducted award-winning research on phytochemical extraction and anti-diabetic drug development. His work includes GC-MS analysis, acute toxicology studies, and co-authorship of peer-reviewed publications on plant-based therapeutics.
With 5+ years of clinical engineering experience, Francis has served at St. Luke’s Hospital and University of Uyo Teaching Hospital, specializing in medical equipment maintenance, radiation safety, and quality assurance. He holds certifications in molecular biology, next-generation sequencing, and Good Laboratory Practice, and is skilled in MATLAB, Python, microscopy, and 3D printing.
A Commonwealth Scholarship nominee (£53,000) and Class Representative at Glasgow, Francis is a member of IPEM (UK), NABET, and STERMN (Nigeria). His interdisciplinary expertise bridges neuroengineering, pharmacology, and regenerative medicine.
