Medical Student Researcher

Samantha Proctor is a medical student at Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine, where she is pursuing her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, anticipated in May 2027. She graduated from Brandeis University with a B.S. in Biology in 2020. With a strong background in clinical research, she has worked at institutions such as Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston Children’s Hospital, and Gaylord Specialty Healthcare. Her research spans gastrointestinal disorders, long-term acute care, and rehabilitation, with multiple peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national conferences. She has co-authored papers in journals including the American Journal of Gastroenterology, Digestive Diseases and Sciences, and the American Journal of Nursing.
In addition to research, Samantha is actively involved in leadership and service. She currently serves as President of the PM&R Club at Campbell and sits on the national AOCPMR Research Committee, where she contributes to educational content and student outreach. She also manages research efforts at the Campbell University Community Care Clinic and volunteers to provide primary care to underserved populations. Passionate about rehabilitation medicine, Samantha plans to pursue a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
