Allie Claire Meeks is a service-driven graduate student currently pursuing her Clinical Doctorate in Occupational Therapy at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, with an expected graduation date of December 2026. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation and Disability Studies from Auburn University in December of 2023 and was recognized on the Dean’s List for her academic achievement.
Allie has consistently demonstrated a commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities through professional and volunteer experiences. She served as a Special Education Paraprofessional at Homewood High School, where she aided students in the classroom instruction by collaborating with educators and using personalized strategies for each student. Allie also volunteered at the Alabama Head Injury Foundation’s Bright Ideas program where she observed and interacted with interdisciplinary therapy students who were treating survivors of traumatic brain injuries. She volunteered at the Exceptional Foundation at East Alabama, where she helped in afternoon activities for adults with disabilities. Allie led small group sessions at Storybook Farm to promote problem-solving and confidence in children with cognitive and emotional challenges. Currently, Allie serves as a Student Ambassador for the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Doctorate of Occupational Therapy program. Allie is dedicated to implementing her skills to work with individuals and make an impact in the occupational therapy field.
