Ziwei Li is a doctoral candidate in Kinesiology at the University of Illinois -- Urbana Champaign, studying under Dr. Laura Rice. Her research in the Disability Participation and Quality of Life (DPQOL) Laboratory focuses on improving safety and well-being for people who use wheelchairs and scooters. She earned her Master's in Occupational Science and Therapy from Grand Valley State University (2021) and her Bachelor's in Health Science from Truman State University (2019). As a Research Assistant, Ziwei leads two significant projects: the Fire Readiness for Wheelchair Users program and the Individualized Reduction of Falls (iROLL) Program. Her work has been published in The Journal of Spinal Cord Medicine and Disability and Rehabilitation: Assistive Technology, and she regularly presents at major conferences in her field. Ziwei also serves as a Teaching Assistant and Student Research Mentor, with extensive clinical experience in rehabilitation therapy and bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese. Ziwei combines practical healthcare experience with academic research to advance the quality of life for individuals with disabilities.
