Research Coordinator
SPARCC Sports Medicine, Rehabilitation and Concussion Center
Joseph Kealoha Marshall, BSHS, is the Clinical and Academic Lead at SPARCC Sports Medicine, Rehabilitation, and Concussion Center in Tucson, Arizona. In this role, he supports interdepartmental operations, oversees student rotations and undergraduate interns, and coordinates research initiatives. He works closely with providers in the evaluation and management of concussion patients by administering neurocognitive, oculomotor, vestibular, autonomic, and qEEG testing, assisting with active rehabilitation protocols, and supporting adjunctive therapies such as hyperbaric oxygen.
Joseph also serves as Research Coordinator at SPARCC, where he assists in managing projects, data analysis, and dissemination of findings. He has contributed to multiple podium and poster presentations at national and international meetings, including AMSSM, PRISM, ACSM, ACRM, and CISG. He works under the guidance of Medical Director and Principal Investigator Dr. Mo Mortazavi. His research interests, in collaboration with the SPARCC team, focus on the evaluation and treatment of concussion, with a particular emphasis on patients with persistent post-concussive symptoms (PPCS).
