Occupational Therapist
Dept of Veterans Affairs
Dr. Naomi Moran, OTD, OTR/L, CLT has been an occupational therapist for over 30 years. She is a veteran of the United States Army and became a certified lymphedema therapist (CLT) nine years ago. Dr. Moran recieved her Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from Columbia University and her Occupational Therpay Doctorate from Eastern Kentucky University. She spent most of her early career working in the private sector; the last 10 years she has worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs. She is currently working at the Veterans Healthcare Center of the Ozarks in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Dr. Moran is passionate about meeting the healthcare needs of veterans. When she identified a pattern of symptoms in veterans who had been exposed to airborne toxins that presented consistent with impaired lymphatic drainage, she initiated a novel approach to treating those symptoms. Based on her observations of how her veterans responded to that treatment, she started her journey into research on the role of lymphatic drainage in airborne toxin exposure symptoms. When not working to identify strategies and intervetions to reduce post exposure symptoms that interfere with quality of life and occupational engagement, Dr. Moran spends time with her family, friends and pets.
