Dr. Scott W. Snyder is a Professor of Educational Psychology & Research at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he also serves as Associate Dean for Research in the School of Education and Human Sciences. Dr. Snyder joined UAB in 1988 and has made lasting contributions to the university’s research and education programs over nearly four decades. The University of Alabama at Birmingham. His research focuses heavily on psychometric methods—especially applications of Rasch scaling and other advanced measurement techniques—to improve assessment in education, health, and social science contexts. In addition to his research, Dr. Snyder is deeply involved in teaching and mentoring, offering courses in statistics and research methods, and often contributes to school evaluation and policy efforts in Alabama.
