Anke Reineke, is a Pain Psychologist who specializes in working with children with medical related issues. She has expertise in the treatment of children and adolescents in the area of hematology/oncology, chronic pain, depression, anxiety, and behavioral disorders. She has been working in the past 19 years at RCHSD and has been presenting posters and given workshops in the area of palliative care, self-regulation skills, and mindfulness.
Anke Reineke is the psychologist and program director of the Children Specialized Hospital Chronic Pain Management Program at Rady Children’s Hospital since 2019.
The program Dr. Reineke oversees is the result of a Rady Children’s partnership with New Jersey’s Children’s Specialized Hospital, part of RWJBarnabas Health. In order to address the growing demand for youth-centric chronic pain care and better serve the needs of kids and teens facing chronic pain in the region, emphasizes pain management through a whole-person and multidisciplinary approach. Our multidisciplinary pediatric chronic pain management team of health professionals at Rady Children’s Hospital includes physicians specializing in rehabilitation/physical medicine, a psychologist, occupational therapists, physical therapists, certified therapeutic recreation specialists, and a social worker. Children and teens work closely with our medical professionals to develop their own strategies so they can return to school, sports, and their social life.
