Dr. Racheal Smetana is a Board-Certified Clinical Neuropsychologist and Assistant Professor at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, with a primary appointment in the Department of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences. Clinically, she sees patients with a range of medical and neurological conditions with primary interests in sport-related concussion, the spectrum of traumatic brain injury, and epilepsy. She is a co-founder of the UVA Health Sports Concussion Program. Her current research is focused on the development of concussion assessments for para athletes and the use of dynamic imaging tools in epilepsy surgical evaluations. Dr. Smetana holds Board or Chair positions within several national and international organizations, including the National Academy of Neuropsychology, the Sports Neuropsychology Society, and the Concussion in Para Sport group.
