Kara Monnin, PhD is a Licensed Psychologist and Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and Ohio State University’s School of Medicine in Columbus, OH. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Case Western Reserve University and a Master of Arts and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Kent State University. Dr. Monnin completed her pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology at Children’s Hospital Colorado.
Dr. Monnin provides clinical services across multiple inpatient units, including Complex Healthcare, Inpatient Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and acute care services (PICU, Trauma/Surgery/Neurosurgery) and operates on a consultative basis for Complex Care clinics. Dr. Monnin also serves as a member of the Advanced Illness Management/Palliative Care team at NCH, and specializes in traumatic brain injury, rehabilitation populations, and children and adolescents with complex medical needs. Dr. Monnin also provides training and supervision to pre-doctoral interns and post-doctoral fellows in pediatric psychology and within complex care.
Dr. Monnin is a professional member of the American Psychological Association (APA), Society for Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics (SDBP) and the Society of Pediatric Psychology (SPP). She holds a leadership position as Co-Chair of the Rehabilitation Medicine SIG Education Committee.
