Assistant professor of pediatrics, attending physician
CHOP
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States
As a Pediatric Rehabilitation Physician at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania, I specialize in providing comprehensive rehabilitation for children and adolescents facing functional impairments due to a variety of causes, including congenital anomalies, infectious diseases, and traumatic injuries. With a background in both pediatrics and rehabilitation medicine, my primary goal is to optimize the functional outcomes of these young patients by preventing disability when possible and providing advanced interventions to facilitate their recovery and long-term well-being.
A key area of focus in my practice is the rehabilitation of pediatric patients with severe heart failure, a population that requires specialized, multifaceted care. In my role as the leader of the Advanced Cardiac Therapies Program at CHOP, I work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver rehabilitation services to children who are managing the complex and often debilitating effects of severe heart failure.
In addition to direct patient care, I am deeply committed to advancing the field of pediatric rehabilitation. As the Director of the Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine (PRM) Fellowship at CHOP, I mentor the next generation of pediatric rehabilitation specialists, ensuring they are equipped with the skills necessary to address complex cases, including those involving severe cardiac conditions. My role as the Quality and Patient Safety Champion within the Division of Rehabilitation Medicine allows me to lead initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality and safety of rehabilitation services provided to all pediatric patients, including those with severe heart failure.
