Lina Daus, PT, DPT, is a research physical therapist with a clinical and academic background in both acute care and interdisciplinary pain management. Her career began at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, where she developed her foundational expertise in acute care, working with a wide range of medically complex patients. This experience cultivated a deep understanding of the role of physical therapy in critical and subacute recovery phases, particularly within hospital-based settings. Expanding her clinical scope, Dr. Daus worked in the treatment of chronic pain patients within an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). There, she played an integral role in a Functional Restoration Program (FRP), utilizing a biopsychosocial model to address long-standing pain and disability. Her collaborative work with psychologists, physicians, and occupational therapists further refined her skills in patient-centered care, behavior change strategies, and chronic pain education. Currently based out of Mayo Clinic Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, she serves as a research physical therapist focused on cancer pain management among health disparities populations.
