Brian Harris is the Founder of MedRhythms, developer of the world’s first prescription music platform, who is pioneering work at the intersection of music, neuroscience, and technology. He is a board-certified music therapist and one of only 350 Neurologic Music Therapist Fellows worldwide. Brian began his clinical career at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, where he created and implemented the hospital’s first full-time inpatient Neurologic Music Therapy program. Specializing in traumatic brain injury, stroke, and other neurologic diseases, he built the program into the most comprehensive NMT program in the country.
Brian co-founded the Arts & Neuroscience Group at the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine (ACRM) and was named a 2025 Fellow of ACRM for his nationally recognized contributions to rehabilitation medicine. He is also the first music therapist selected as a member of the Recording Academy.
He has been an invited speaker at leading institutions worldwide, including Harvard Medical School, Stanford University, Berklee College of Music, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine, and the Neurology Foundation of India. Brian is an author on multiple publications in music and rehabilitation and is listed as an inventor on several patents related to MedRhythms products. His work has been featured in Forbes, CNBC, Rolling Stone, and The Huffington Post. He has also been named to MedTech Boston’s 40 Under 40 Healthcare Innovators and recognized as one of the Top 100 Innovation CEOs by World Biz Magazine.
