Shahla Hosseini, MD, PhD, is a board-certified physiatrist (ABPMR) who works in outpatient neurorehabilitation medicine at the University of Cincinnati. She specializes in treating muscle spasticity, gait dysfunction, and other functional deficits in patients with multiple sclerosis, stroke, spinal cord injury, and other neurological diseases. She is an Associate Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in the Department of Neurology and Rehabilitation Medicine, where she has been faculty since 2013. Dr. Hosseini holds an interdisciplinary monthly gait clinic to optimize bracing outcomes for her more complex patients. Additionally, Dr. Hosseini is a board-certified electromyographer (ABEM). Her research interests are in using inertial monitoring units to optimize prescription of orthotics and functional electrical stimulation. Dr. Hosseini is currently a site Principal Investigator at the University of Cincinnati for a multi-center clinical study of an investigational product to treat muscle spasticity in patients with multiple sclerosis.
