Jennifer Sippel, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist employed with Veterans Health Administration (VHA) for 24 years. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Luther College and a PhD from the University of North Dakota. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at VA Central Arkansas Healthcare System and her post-doctoral fellowship at VA North Texas Healthcare System (VANTHCS). At VANTHCS, she held research and clinical, positions in the Spinal Cord Injuries and Disorders (SCI/D) Center and was Clinical Director for Cultural Transformation (Patient Centered Care) with the Executive Office. In her current role as National Outcomes Director for VHA’s SCI/D National Program Office, she led the VHA SCI/D Registry (VHA SCIDR) algorithm/phenotype design and implementation. Dr. Sippel’s role evolved and now she leverages VHA SCIDR data for program and outcomes evaluation, planning, and quality improvement for the VHA SCI/D System of Care. She publishes in the areas of spinal cord injury healthcare access, utilization, patient experience, and population health.
