Emily Kernan, MS, CCC-SLP, is a Speech-Language Pathologist III at Children’s Hospital Colorado, where she primarily works on the inpatient rehabilitation unit supporting children with brain and spinal cord injuries. She serves as the Neurorehabilitation Team Lead for the Speech Pathology department, overseeing training and mentorship for outpatient neurorehabilitation speech pathologists across the hospital’s network of care.

Emily has a particular passion for working with patients with Functional Neurological Disorders (FND). She is part of the multidisciplinary FND clinic and has played a key role in developing inpatient and outpatient care pathways for speech pathology services for this patient population.

In addition to her clinical work, Emily is pursuing a PhD in Clinical Science at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. She is grateful for the mentorship of neuropsychologist Dr. Christine Petranovich, whose guidance continues to shape her research.
