Reina Arakawa is a medical student at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich in the last year of her medical studies. Prior to her medical studies, she studied at the Johns Hopkins University majoring in Neuroscience. She joined the Center for Music and Medicine CMM Team in October 2023 to work on her medical doctoral thesis, involving DBS, Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation and Local Field Potentials. Although her onsite time at CMM has passed, she continues to work with the team virtually. Reina strongly believes in the potential of music in supporting rehabilitaion from different illnesses and hopes to spread awareness of music as a method of therapy among her current and future colleagues in medicine.
