Walt Weiss is a Senior Research Physical Therapist and Chief Gait Instructor in the Pathokinesiology Laboratory at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center, where he has served for over 35 years as a master clinician, instructor, researcher, and mentor. His research interests include the restoration of walking, rehabilitation, recovery and bracing for individuals after stroke and other neurologic conditions. He is a founding member and former Clinical Director of the University of Southern California/Rancho Los Amigos Residency in Neurologic Physical Therapy. Mr. Weiss is an internationally recognized expert in gait analysis and intervention to maximize motor recovery. His popular continuing education courses and presentations for the APTA combine his expertise in patient management and determining the maximum challenge point, with his first-hand knowledge of the research evidence. Mr. Weiss was the 2007 recipient of the Award for Clinical Excellence in Neurology by the Neurology Section of the American Physical Therapy Association.
