Dr. Rosemary B. Hughes is a Research Professor in the Department of Psychology and Senior Research Scientist in the Rural Institute for Inclusive Communities at the University of Montana in Missoula, Montana. She holds a PhD in counseling psychology from the University of Houston. Dr. Hughes is a seasoned disability researcher whose scholarly work focuses on improving the health and safety of the seriously disadvantaged and medically underserved disability population. Her research addresses a wide range of disability-related topics utilizing quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methodologies. She has served as principal investigator or co-principal investigator on 30 federally funded disability-related research grants. Dr. Hughes has published and presented extensively on issues of importance to the disability community.
