Rick Coury, an American residing in Namibia for over 15 years, is the Chief Operating Officer and a founding member of Uugumbo Medical, Namibia’s first comprehensive rehabilitation center. He brings 25 years of experience in medical technology and holds two bachelor's degrees and a master's degree from Michigan State University.
Uugumbo Medical (Pty) Ltd is a Namibian-owned company established in 2013 to develop and operate the Uugumbo Trauma Rehabilitation Center (UTRC). The UTRC is envisioned as a state-of-the-art, 60-bed sub-acute physical rehabilitation facility, offering both inpatient and outpatient services. It is designed to deliver the highest standard of professional care, encompassing physical, occupational, speech, cognitive, and psychosocial therapies—all within a single institution.
The UTRC’s treatment programs aim to support recovery from injury, trauma, illness, disease, or post-surgical conditions, with a focus on reintegration into society.
