Professional Experience:
Dr. Whitney Lacefield has over 13 years of clinical experience in physical therapy, primarily in the inpatient setting. Since joining UK HealthCare in 2011, she has specialized in acute care for trauma patients before transitioning to her current role in a neuro specialty outpatient clinic. She now focuses on neurologic rehabilitation, with particular expertise in the treatment of patients with Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders.
Research and Academic Interests:
Currently pursuing a PhD in Rehabilitation and Health Sciences, Dr. Lacefield is interested in advancing neurorehabilitation practices through evidence-based interventions and interdisciplinary collaboration. Her academic focus includes neuroplasticity, motor control recovery, and optimizing patient outcomes across care settings.
