Jessica Hooke has 17 years of experience as a medical speech-language pathologist, primarily focusing on neurological
and neurogenic communication disorders. She has served in the role of a clinical rehabilitation specialist for her brain injury program for eight years and transitioned to being the department's clinical specialist over community programs and wellness approximately one year ago.
Jessica is passionate about patient-centered care. She is dedicated to bridging the gap between patients and local community resources, creating innovative ways to foster community reintegration, and providing prevention/awareness to the community.
Some of Jessica's work includes creating a neuro-friendly restaurant initiative, creating a grant-funded community event/program that included collaboration across departments and 15 organizations with a focus placed on primary and secondary prevention, creating medical alert booklets for acquired brain injury survivors to educate first responders on their specific injuries along with the creation of mandatory education for first responders in five Central Florida counties, and collaborated with UCF in the development of an interdisciplinary yoga club for patients with ABI (including individuals with aphasia who may require communication support).
Jessica currently is a member of the National Advisory Committee for the American Heart Association and a board member for the Central Florida Brain Injury Support Group. She currently obtaining a MPH degree from Boston University.
