Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine
Baylor Scott and White Health
Austin, TX, United States
My introduction to the life sciences began with research in cardiac electrophysiology at the Center for Arrhythmia Research as well as skin pathology at the University of Michigan. After developing an interest in clinical medicine, I pursued a medical degree at Michigan State University followed by a residency in emergency medicine. I returned to the University of Michigan to complete a fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine before spending over a year working across multiple COVID Intensive Care Units. While the pandemic was challenging in many ways, it ultimately motivated me to seek new adventures and move to Austin, TX where I joined the Department of Emergency Medicine at Baylor Scott and White Health. I've enjoyed the last few years serving as faculty for Baylor College of Medicine where I have the privilege of teaching both residents and medical students. Given my focus in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, I welcomed the opportunity to collaborate with the Baylor Scott and White Health Sports Therapy and Research team in Frisco, TX lead by Drs. O'Neil, Driver, and Covert. Together, we've push the boundaries of research in sports-related concussion.
