Dr. Daniel Geller is an Associate Professor of Rehabilitation and Regenerative Medicine in the Programs in Occupational Therapy at Columbia University.
Dr. Geller has been an occupational therapist for over 20 years with clinical expertise in neurorehabilitation more specifically stroke rehabilitation. His research focuses on upper extremity evaluation and treatment in adult individuals’ post-stroke and has expanded to sexuality and intimacy. He is the author or co-author of over 20 peer-reviewed publications focused on stroke rehabilitation such the AOTA Occupational Therapy Stroke Guidelines, psychometric properties of the Functional upper extremity levels (FUEL), mirror therapy, robotics and music therapy. He has presented at local, state, national and international conferences. He also is the author of several stroke chapters in well-known physical disability textbooks in occupational therapy. He was the co-leader of the NYC stroke group for 4 years whereby webinars were developed and implemented for OT clinicians and student related to stroke and apraxia, vision, sexuality/intimacy and COVID. He currently teaches adult neurological physical disabilities in the master’s program and cognitive basis of decision making in the doctoral program.
