Physical Therapist
Shepherd Center, Complex Concussion Clinic
Tucker, GA, United States
I am a board-certified neurologic physical therapist specialized in vestibular rehabilitation with an interest in working with individuals with dizziness and balance impairments following traumatic brain injury. I completed a neurorehabilitation clinical rotation at Emory University as a student physical therapist in 2018 and completed a 13-month neurologic residency with Mercer University and Shepherd Center in 2019. During this residency program I worked with individuals with acquired brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, multiple sclerosis, and Guillan Barre across the continuum of inpatient and post-acute rehabilitation. This experience led to my desire to specialize in vestibular rehabilitation. In 2019 I began working in the Shepherd Center’s SHARE Military Initiative working with veterans, active-duty service members, and first responders with traumatic brain injuries and/or blast exposures. I pursued vestibular clinical competency in 2022. In 2024, I began working in Shepherd Center's Complex Concussion Clinic working with individuals with concussion and/or various vestibular impairments. In addition to completing continuing education in vestibular rehabilitation, I completed Pilates mat instructor training in 2021 and 200-hr and 300-hr yoga teacher trainings in 2023 and 2024 in order to provide a holistic approach to managing dizziness, balance challenges, and chronic pain and headache. In addition to clinical care, I am interested in teaching and investigative pursuits. I have assisted with instructing Georgia State University’s Vestibular Rehabilitation Technologies Lab for several years and enjoy teaching students and residents about advances in vestibular rehabilitation. I am interested in innovative and comprehensive treatment approaches to facilitate improved outcomes and participation following prolonged recovery from traumatic brain injury.
