Mahya Beheshti is a Physician-scientist at Rusk Rehabilitation. She has worked at Visuomotor Integration Laboratory (VMIL), Rehabilitation Engineering Alliance and Center Transforming Low Vision (REACTIV) laboratory. Her research interests lie within the realm of neurorehabilitation, human-machine interface, specifically EEG-based pattern recognition, and wearable technologies. While working on rehabilitation and assistive technologies, she was fascinated by the entanglement of medicine and engineering and how this bond can be used to accelerate scientific progress to treat and help those with challenging disabilities. Her intellectual curiosity and interest in research pushed her to become an MAE Ph.D. candidate while wearing her scientist hat at Rusk.
