Caitlin Newman graduated with a B.S. in Health Sciences (2009) and a Master’s in Occupational Therapy from The Ohio State University in 2011. Caitlin has been an Occupational Therapist at Shirley Ryan Abilitylab (The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago) since 2012 specializing in the treatment of patients with upper extremity deficits following stroke, brain injury and spinal cord injury. Caitlin is currently the Lab Manager for the Arms and Hands lab, specializing in High Intensity Upper Extremity Interventions as well as managing the other lab areas of practice and the collaborative relationship between researchers and clinicians. In addition to her treatment and management role, Caitlin is a research Occupational Therapist, participating in various studies across Shirley Ryan AbilityLab targeting assessment, intervention and the in the use of wearable technology to track arm movement.
