Dr Urvashy Gopaul is a post-doctoral fellow at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, Canada. She was formerly a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Mauritius. Dr Gopaul graduated in Physiotherapy at the University of Mauritius and also specialises with a Master of Science in Neurorehabilitation Physiotherapy (University of Nottingham, UK). She also holds a PhD in Physiotherapy focusing on upper limb rehabilitation after stroke (University of Newcastle, Australia). Dr Gopaul has strong research interests in the development of complex interventions to improve upper limb function as well as the development of outcome assessment tools in stroke rehabilitation. Currently, her research focuses on robotic assessment and training of upper limb deficits after stroke.
